If you’re anything like us, you’ve been collecting stuff all summer and now you’ve got a room/apartment/house filled with extra bike stuff you don’t want or need. Luckily, Gearin’ Up Bicycles is hosting an end-of-summer swap meet just for you and all your stuff on Saturday, August 31st! Bring all your stuff, a little cash for a donation and your best haggling skills to Bardo Brewery at 11AM and get your swap on. A $3 donation is suggested at the door.

Gearin’ Up Bicycles is a non-profit dedicated to creating opportunities for youth and young adults in underserved communities while encouraging cycling as a healthy and practical mean of transportation.

The family that bikes together, stays together… right?

On the third-to-last day of their vacation, the first family donned helmets and took to the bicycle trails, going for a morning ride Friday through Manuel F. Correllus State Forest in West Tisbury, Mass.

…Presidential vacations are no excuse for weak security. The Obamas were trailed by bike-riding Secret Service agents, according to the pool report, and several motorcade vehicles.

According to this article published today, researchers at Georgetown University found that Bikeshare riders are less likely to wear helmets than other riders. 7 out of 10 compared to 3 out of 10 went without protection.
